First case of diphtheria in Perak confirmed

IPOH: The Health Ministry has reported the first case of diphtheria in Perak involving a four-year-old girl from Taiping.

According to director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the girl has been suffering from fever, cough and a sore throat since Aug 12 before being admitted to the Taiping Hospital five days later.
