KUALA LUMPUR: An average of 17 deaths in police custody have happened annually for the past 15 years, according to a report by the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam).
Outgoing Suhakam commissioner James Nayagam (pic) said 194 out of the 255 deaths reported between 2000 and 2014 were due to health-related causes.
