Hadi: Husam to face action over criticisms

KUALA TERENGGANU: Former PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa is looking at being suspended or expelled from the party for allegedly challenging and criticising the leadership.

PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said he had ordered the party's disciplinary committee to summon Husam and conduct an investigation on the matter.

"We leave it to the disciplinary committee, he must be warned, suspended or expelled if it is indeed found that he is guilty," he told reporters after opening the Kuala Terengganu Pas coordinating office here.

Commenting on Husam's accusations that Abdul Hadi's move to bring the motion on Hudud in Kelantan without consulting the party first as a premature act, the PAS president said he was more experienced than Husam and was in the party for a longer time.

"I joined PAS in 1963. He (Husam) entered the party in the 80s and it (hudud) is an old issue. The issue of hudud was raised since we achieved independence in 1957 and it is our duty as Muslims," Abdul Hadi said.

Hadi also said PAS will be contesting 11 seats in the Sarawak state election. - Bernama
