KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Kavita Sidhu celebrated her marriage to Italian geologist Roberto Guiati with a star-studded wedding reception at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur on Friday night.
Kavita, a former beauty queen and model, wore a stunning embroidered wedding dress that she designed herself, while Guiati brought classic Italian style to the dinner in his Ermenegildo Zegna suit.
The happy couple met eight years ago and had been dating for over four years before Guiati proposed to Kavita while on holiday in Phuket, Thailand in July last year.
The reception, hosted by Kavita’s parents Datuk Dr Joginder Singh and Datin Dr Prabha Joginder Singh, was attended by almost 500 guests including family, friends and plenty of socialites and celebrities.
Among the VIPs who came were former Miss Malaysias Yasmin Yusoff, Deborah Henry, Arianna Teoh and Elaine Daly, actresses Sofea Jane, Ida Nerina and Vanidah Imran, actor Hans Isaac and singer Ning Baizura, who performed two songs for the bride and groom, "All Of Me" and "At Last".
Also present was Guiati’s parents, Vincenzo Guiati and Valentina Rossi, who flew in from Italy for the happy occasion.
Guiati came to Malaysia nine years ago and currently works for the KL regional office of Pibiviesse, an Italian manufacturer of engineered valve where he is developing the Asia Pacific markets.
The husband and wife duo also own Zenzero Restaurant & Wine Bar in KL, where a second and more intimate dinner reception will take place on Saturday.
