1MDB accuses Pua of trying to ‘score political points’

PETALING JAYA: The 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) has criticised Tony Pua for his premature questions, and accused him of attempting to “score political points.”

The government investment fund said this in a statement in response to the DAP lawmaker’s demand for 1MDB to publish minutes of its Board of Director’s meetings.

It said 1MDB had submitted authentic company documents, including its meeting minutes to lawful authorities investigating the company, such as the police and the Auditor-General.

“This is per due process and the laws of our country and the A-G has confirmed that the final report will be ready before year end.”

It added that the report will be submitted to the bi-partisan Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of which Pua is a member.

“The PAC will then present its findings to Parliament. Rather than wait for investigations to conclude, YB Tony Pua continues to raise premature questions, without evidence, in his attempt to score political points,” said the statement.

“1MDB will remain focused on cooperating with investigations by the authorities.

“In fact, we look forward to answering Pua, with all the supporting documents at the upcoming PAC hearings,” added the statement.
