KOTA KINABALU: A proposed RM7mil global positioning system (GPS) for earthquake monitoring in Mount Kinabalu may have saved lives if it had been implemented by the federal government.
This is the view of former Sabah Mineral and Geoscience department director Alexander Yan whose proposal to the federal government in 2012 contained a request to install the GPS along the fault lines of Mount Kinabalu by 2013.
