PETALING JAYA: Controversial billionaire businessman Low Taek Jho, who has been linked to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), has reportedly flown into Kuala Lumpur onboard a Cathay Pacific flight.

According to an online portal, Low, popularly known as Jho Low, arrived on Flight 729 from Hong Kong at 7.43pm on Thursday.

It reported that he had boarded the flight with a casually dressed man and had sat at the last row of seats. He was met at KLIA's aerobridge by "a tall Indian man."

There have been calls for the Public Accounts Committee to bring in Joh Low for questioning over his alleged involvement in 1MDB.

However, PAC chair Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed was quoted in the report as saying that the committee has no basis to summon Jho Low as a witness merely because he has returned to the country as there were procedures to follow.
