Illegal structures in Sabah forest torn down

KOTA KINABALU: The state Forestry Department has demolished wooden structures, including houses, built by people encroaching into a forest reserve in the Ulu Kinabatangan region.

Department director Datuk Sam Mannan said he suspected that the trespassers had planned to clear the forest and eventually claim the land.
