PETALING JAYA: The unique 3D light-up neon green Mountain Dew advert which appeared in Monday's copy of The Star gave readers an unexpected but pleasant surprise.
Many were encouraged to buy bottles of the newly-launched neon green Mountain Dew, while others took to social media to share about the unique advertisement.
“The advertisement is very outstanding and attractive to me, especially the quality of the paper and that they had an LED Mountain Dew which I could switch on,” said 20-year old student Low Chai Li, adding that the presentation had a “cool” vibe.
Low's opinion was echoed by Facebook user Vee Ming.
“Always loved the taste,” added Robest Yong.
Clement Chen, meanwhile, said that while he is not a long-time fan of Mountain Dew, the interesting advert has changed his mind.
“I usually don’t drink Mountain Dew but the advert makes me curious to see the new packaging and buy it,” the 19-year-old student said.
“I think that it is something creative and it caught my eye when I first opened the page to find a bottle that lights up. It’s also the first time I came across something like this in the newspaper,” said Chen, who shared images of the advertisement on his Facebook page.
The unique neon colour also caught the attention of Mohd Hasif, who came across the advert in his office’s copy of The Star.
“It’s bold, borderline daring. Definitely caught my attention to try it out,” said the 28-year-old investment analyst.
Mountain Dew’s latest campaign is in line with the newly launched neon green bottle which contains a revamped version of the popular citrus-flavoured drink.
