Jawi appeals against decision to discharge Borders bookstore manager

PETALING JAYA: The Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) has appealed against the Syariah High Court’s decision last month to discharge Borders bookstore manager Nik Raina Nik Abdul Aziz over Irshad Manji’s controversial book, Allah, Liberty and Love. 

Nik Raina’s lawyer, Rosli Dahlan told The Star Online when contacted that the notice of appeal by Chief Syarie Prosecutor Mohamad Adib Husain was served directly to his client although he was listed as the solicitor on record.
