IPOH: Perak DAP adviser Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham will proceed with legal action against Agriculture and Agro-Based Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for alleging that he and his family were anti-Islam.
Ngeh said he had already instructed his lawyer to issue a letter of demand against Ismail Sabri.
"He has seven days to retract his statement and to apologise to me and my family, failing which I will take him to court.
"It is not that I want to sue him but he has been very stubborn and arrogant," Ngeh told reporters here Friday.
On Tuesday, Ngeh gave Ismail Sabri 48 hours to apologise and retract his statement, which called for Muslims to boycott the Old Town White Coffee kopitiam chain that Ngeh and his family supposedly owned.
To date, the minister has refused to apologise.
Ngeh, who again stressed that he did not own a single Old Town Bhd share, also called on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to sack Ismail Sabri for continuing to allegedly lie in order to avoid responsibility for his statement.
"The fact that Ismail Sabri has withdrawn his Facebook posting and avoided identifying me and my family as his targets are clear admissions of guilt on his part.
"His actions clearly prove that his statement against me and my family is untrue," Ngeh said.
