Body found in oil palm plantation


Police punting the remains on a truck to be sent to the Bukit Mertajam hospital for post mortem.

BUKIT MERTAJAM: A body of a man has been found inside a palm oil plantation beside Jalan Gajah Mati in Machang Bubuk near here.

According to Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rusli Noor, police were alerted at about 1.45pm on Saturday by a member of the public.

"Initial investigation revealed that the body sustained no injuries.

"The nationality and age cannot be determined as there were no identification or BCG jab mark found on the body.

"A cloth was found covering the body," he said when met at the scene.

Mohd Rusli added that the body has been sent to the Bukit Mertajam hospital for post mortem, and police will conduct further investigation once the report is released.
