Palanivel calls protesters troublemakers, downplays incident

KUALA LUMPUR: Banners calling for the resignation of MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel were hung from a flyover in full view at the party headquarters for a much anticipated meeting.

An hour before the meeting started on Thursday, hundreds of members from a rival faction swarmed the entrance of the building bearing placards and demanding that Palanivel step down.
