MCA hits back at irresponsible accusations against Penang Chinese

GEORGE TOWN: Penang MCA has hit back at an Umno delegate who alleged that Chinese in the state were rich due to their involvement in illicit activities.

State MCA chairman Senator Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun lambasted Permatang Pauh Umno chief Datuk Mohd Zaidi Mohd Said for implying that Penang Chinese made money and gained political power from “being involved in illicit economic activities such as illegal gambling, prostitution and entertainment outlets”, as reported by an online news portal on Friday.
