Topless female sunbathers in Port Dickson an isolated case, says council chief

PORT DICKSON: The incident where four women, believed to be foreigners, were reported to have sunbathed topless at Saujana Beach Batu 4 here Thursday is an isolated case.

Port Dickson Municipal Council (MPPD) chairman Datuk Ab Khalid Mat, however, said MPPD viewed the matter seriously and was currently conducting an investigation.

"We hope members of the public who saw incidents, such as this one, in any places in Port Dickson will immediately lodge a report with the authorities for further action," he said when contacted here Friday.

He said bathing topless in public places is an offence.

Meanwhile, police were in the process of identifying those involved after receiving a police report at 8.30pm Thursday.

State acting Criminal Investigation chief Khoo Leng Huat, who confirmed receiving the report, said the case was being investigated under section 294 (a) of the Penal Code and section 509 of the Penal Code.

In the 2pm incident, the women, believed to be in their 20s and 30s, were spotted sunbathing on a mat at the beach under the hot weather.

However, a visitor who was bathing there became aware of their behaviour and videotaped the incident. – Bernama
