Flash floods and submerged cars bring Klang Valley traffic to a standstill

Some cars were left stranded due to flash floods along the Federal Highway-LDP interchange.

PETALING JAYA: Flash floods, caused by heavy downpour of thunderstorms have brought certain parts of the Klang Valley to a standstill during the evening rush hour.

A check with PLUS officials showed that a section of the highway connecting the Subang Jaya toll and the Federal Highway is flooded and causing a major crawl in the area.

"We urge drivers to avoid the area for now," he said.

Another route congested due to flooding is the road connecting Subang airport to Glenmarie.

"Only one lane is operational and traffic is very congested.

"We are continuing to monitor all the major highways for further cases of flash floods," he said.

The official also advised drivers to call in if there are other areas affected by flood.
