Ruji is Esscom public director

KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Federal Secretary Ruji Ubi is now Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) public director.

Ruji, a native of Tawau district, received his appointment letter from Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa last week.

Esscom said in a statement that the 44-year-old had vast experience in human resource management, finance and policy formulation.

The public director’s post came about as a result of Esscom’s restructuring with its operations being separated into two components – public action as well as security management, defence and enforcement.

Datuk Rashid Harun was appointed Esscom commander in charge of the security, defence and enforcement component.

Esscom was previously headed by a director-general – Datuk Mohammad Mantek.
