PKR polls: Wan Azizah warns outsiders not to cause trouble

PETALING JAYA: PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (pic) has warned outsiders not to cause trouble during the party’s elections.

She said there were cases of indiscipline in many of the party’s polling centres nationwide that actually been conducted democratically but was hijacked by non-members.

“Early findings from the PKR Election Committee show that the chaos during the voting process was caused by non-party members who were instigated by gangsters to do so.

“Several PKR members also became involved in the ensuing acts of indiscipline. PKR has never taken this issue lightly, and would like to urge all party members to abide by the rules and democratic process in the party at all times,” Dr Wan Azizah said in a statement issued Tuesday.

She said the untoward incidents during the party polls would not deter PKR from continuing its struggle and attracting members across the religious, racial, and cultural divide.

“The improvements made in the re-election, which ran smoothly on May 31 and June 1, was the direct result of responsible behaviour from everyone in the party,” she added.
