DAP's Teluk Intan MP Seah Leong Peng dies from cancer


BREAKING NEWS: PETALING JAYA: Seah Leong Peng, 48, the DAP Member of Parliament for Teluk Intan, passed away from cancer Thursday.

The party's disciplinary committee chairman Tan Kok Wai confirmed this and said a statement would be released soon.

Meanwhile, when contacted, Ipoh Timur MP Thomas Su said Seah died from bladder cancer at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre here at about 7.45am.

"He was diagnosed earlier in February and his condition worsened.

"We are making the necessary arrangements to bring his body back to Teluk Intan later," he said.

Seah won the seat in the 2013 general election, polling 27,399 votes to beat Barisan Nasional's Mah Siew Kong (20,086) and Independent candidate K Moralingam (279).

He was a three-term assemblyman for Pasir Bedamar since 1999.
