KUALA LUMPUR: Any action to obtain water supplied by Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) by intentionally bypassing its meters is considered theft, the High Court here heard.
Syabas assistant manager (billing department) Aisyah Samsudin said the actions of Hashim Moan – who is suing Syabas for defamation by calling him a water thief – falls under what Syabas defines as water theft because he had installed a pipe to reconnect his water supply after being cut off.
