Calls to replace Esscom chief irrelevant and baseless, says assemblyman

KOTA KINABALU: Calls to replace Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) director-general Datuk Mohammad Mentek with a uniformed senior security officer are irrelevant and baseless, says Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal.

The Lahad Datu assemblyman stressed instead the importance of strengthening the security agency’s administrative structure, in order for the director-general to manage it systematically and effectively.
