GEORGE TOWN: An Indonesian worker plunged to his death from the 22nd floor of a condominium under construction in Pulau Tikus area here Thursday, when a support platform gave way.

The man and two other foreign workers who also fell from the same floor of the condominium, landed on an open space area on the eighth floor.

The two others, however, survived with serious injuries.

Bagan Jermal Fire and Rescue Department station chief A. Ravi said the workers were carrying out plastering works on the external wall when the mishap occurred, around 9.30am.

"They were standing on the wooden platform outside the building which was supported by scaffolding.

"We believe the platform could not support their weight and collapsed," he said.

The victim and injured were sent to the Penang Hospital.
