PETALING JAYA: The motorist in a hit-and-run accident that left a traffic policeman in critical condition has yet to come forward.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said they had yet to receive any police reports relating to the case.

He added that Lans-Korporal Mohd Malid Jifri Mat was on duty at a roadblock in Jalan Universiti at around 1pm on Sunday when a grey Naza Citra tried to avoid the police check.

“When he approached the car, the driver stepped on the accelerator and ran the roadblock.

“L/Kpl Mohd Malid gave chase on his motorcycle from Jalan Universiti to the Federal Highway but was unfortunately knocked by a white MyVi, which also fled the scene,” he said yesterday.

He added that L/Kpl Mohd Malid’s condition remained the same at the University Malaya Medical Centre.

“We urge the persons involved to lodge a police report on the incident soon. Those who witnessed the incident are also advised to come forward immediately,” he said, adding that they should contact the police hotline at 03-2052 9999.
