KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating an illegal gathering in Dataran Merdeka planned for New Year's Eve and are taking proactive steps to prevent it from happening.
Deeming it a threat to national security, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said police have taken steps to make sure the gathering is not carried out.
