KUALA LUMPUR: Statements he made during a closed-door briefing in Malacca have been misconstrued by certain news portals, Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, clarifying his controversial “shoot first” statement.
According to Dr Ahmad Zahid, the context of his comments referred to a case in Penang on Aug 19 when five men were killed in a police raid, saying it did not mean the police were trigger-happy.
