> In another report, Kapar MIC division chairman T. Ganesan had lamented that there were numerous Indian NGOs in the country but only a few had actually helped to resolve the problems of the community.

Ganesan said that the NGOs were only concentrating on Tamil schools but had neglected Indian students in secondary schools.




> Malaysia Nanban reported that a group of residents had protested that they had been issued eviction notices to vacate their homes in Kampung Hakka in Mantin, Negri Sembilan.

The residents had claimed that they had lived in the village for six generations. However, a developer had recently directed them to vacate their homes soon.

They had demanded that they be allowed to stay on or at least be provided with alternative land nearby or with houses at lower prices by the developer.
