KL optimistic over reforms in Myanmar


NAYPYITAW: Just days before Aung San Suu Kyi leads her party to contest in by-elections closely watched by the world, Myanmar President Thein Sein has given the assurance that current reforms are irreversible as the country moves towards being a democratic and inclusive society.

The assurance given by Thein Sein when he met Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak further boosted Malaysia's confidence that Myanmar was undergoing a transition to be more open and progressive after being in isolation for decades.
