CELEBRATING Ramadan in Malaysia for Nazeen Koonda, 30, and her husband S.G. Masood, 30, is an exciting experience. The couple, who hail from Hyderabad, India, have been living in Kuala Lumpur for almost four years and consider the Ramadan celebrations in Malaysia an exuberant affair.
Come Ramadan, Malaysians enjoy a multitude of buka puasa events and various choices of bazaars which sell delectable local cuisine. “In Hyderabad, there are no extensive Ramadan bazaars like the ones you find in Malaysia. It’s a quiet affair back in India,” said Masood, a product manager with an IT company in Kuala Lumpur.
