TWO MPs from the DAP were ordered out of the Dewan by Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia during Question Time for disobeying his order.
Jeff Ooi (DAP-Jelutong) and Fong Po Kuan (DAP-Batu Gajah) only returned to the House at 2.30pm.
Ooi was asking a supplementary question on bumiputra contractors involved in upgrading the Penang International Airport when Pandikar Amin told him to stop going on with his lengthy questioning.
When Ooi refused to sit down and argued with Pandikar Amin, he was ordered out.
Fong, who stood up to plead with Pandikar Amin on Ooi’s behalf, was also ordered out when she told the Speaker: “Tan Sri, maybe you are the one who needs rest as you seem to be emotional.”
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri had earlier replied to Ooi on the progress of the airport upgrading.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi survived a motion to cut his pay after he again stressed that he did not call non-Malays unpatriotic.
The motion, which was put to block voting after being tabled by M. Kulasegaran (DAP-Ipoh Barat), was defeated 33 to 69.
