KUALA LUMPUR: A 46-year-old painter claimed trial to a charge of bribing a police officer with RM54,950 as an inducement not to arrest him when he was found with drugs.
Yap Ten Ooi was accused at the Sessions Court yesterday of offering the amount to Chief Inspector Suresh D. Muniandy from the Kuala Lumpur Narcotics Division at the car park of Vista Mutiara, off Jalan Kepong, at about 8.15pm on July 15.
