National Fatwa Committee: Only Allah decides whether one goes to heaven or hell

KUALA LUMPUR: The claim that one must give his or her pledge and support to a certain individual, organisation or political party before he or she can go to heaven is wrong according to Islamic teachings, said the Chairman of the National Fatwa (Edict) Muzakarah Committee, Prof Datuk Abdul Shukor Husin.

He said this was because the decision of the National Fatwa Muzakarah Committee had stipulated that only Allah had the absolute power to determine whether one would go to heaven or hell based on his or her faith and devotion.
