Jawah wins nomination as Batang Ai candidate

KUCHING: Last-minute intense lobbying by “influential personalities” helped former five-term Lubok Antu MP Jawah Gerang win the nomination as PKR candidate for the April 7 Batang Ai by-election.

Jawah, 55, and a degree holder in economics from Universiti Malaya, will face newcomer Malcolm Mussen Lamoh (Parti Rakyat Sarawak-Barisan Nasional), in the contest.
