Thumprint reader helps screen foreigners

PUTRAJAYA: Foreigners living, working and studying illegally in the country will be detected more easily now with the introduction of the Mobile Immigration Enforcement System (MIES). 

The special computer, costing RM9,000 each, doubles as a card and thumbprint reader to detect fake identification and travel documents on the spot during checks.
