THE issue of parliamentary democracy and freedom of the elected representatives came up again when MPs sat to debate the Supplementary Supply Bill 2007 last week.
What had occurred during the debates was that the MPs were “testing the waters” by bringing up the issue of parliamentary independence, including calling for the re-instatement of the Parliamentary Services Act (PSA) 1963, which was repealed in 1992.
