CYBERJAYA: The Fire and Rescue Department will put in a request for an extra RM300mil under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP) to buy equipment such as boats and a hovercraft.

Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said that if the recent massive floods in Johor and Malacca were an indication of things to come, the department would have to ready itself to face more challenges in the future due to global warming.
