ALOR STAR: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is the first Malaysian to receive the Mother Teresa Memorial International Award for Social Justice. 

The award was presented during a ceremony at Taj President Hotel in Mumbai, India, yesterday.
