A 52-year-old man accused of running an illegal betting racket in a shoplot in Kuchai Business Centre, Jalan Kuchai Lama in Kuala Lumpur, last Saturday pleaded not in a magistrate’s court yesterday.

Prosecuting officer Chief Insp Wong Chan Yim proposed bail be set at RM20,000. Leom Phang Bee, who hails from Kuching, urged the court to reduce bail, telling magistrate Azniza Mohd Ali that his monthly salary was RM4,000 and he has two children.
