PENANG: The crowd watched in awe as a crane carried a giant rain tree trunk – that only last month was the subject of outrage among the city folks – to a busy shopping junction here.
Now sculptured as The Winds of Penang, the gigantic jati deadwood that was left to crumble near Penang Hospital before a Japanese sculptor turned it into a work of art, was placed onto three cylindrical bases near the Magazine Road-Penang Road junction.
