UP AGAIN: (July 30) Fuel prices have gone up again. Faced with increasing subsidy bills on fuel, the Government announced that petrol price was up by 10 sen a litre and diesel by 20 sen a litre. The retail price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has also gone up by five sen per kg.

FACE OFF: (Aug 4) The rise in the price of diesel has fuelled a showdown between the Government and bus operators, who have asked for a fuel surcharge. Entrepreneurial and Co-operative Development Minister Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin said there was “no way” the Government would agree to allow a surcharge, while Pan Malaysian Bus Operators Association president Datuk Mohamad Ashfar Ali accused the Government of practising double standards.
