KUCHING: The womenfolk in Long Bemang, Sarawaks longest Kayan longhouse with 200 households in Baram, will be invited to attend a workshop on handicraft development.
A Miri-based voluntary handicraft organisation will share with them its success story during the workshop at the longhouse tomorrow.
Angkatan Zaman Mansang (Azam), a non-governmental organisation, had organised a workshop on Building Capacity in Voluntarism Among Rural Women at the longhouse settlement last year.
In collaboration with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation based in Germany, Azam hosted four similar workshops in other settlements.
The workshops are funded by the US Embassy.
Azam community development manager Dora Jok said a specific programme had been drawn up for Long Bemang.
She added that the women would learn to market their handicraft items.
