JOHOR BARU: Five men and a woman were detained for alleged involvement in four cases of armed robbery during a raid at a house in Taman Scientex, Masai, here.

Johor Baru (South) OCPD Senior Asst Comm II Hashim Yusof said a team of police raided the double-storey house at 7am on July 21 and arrested the suspects, aged between 21 and 32.

“Investigations revealed that the suspects were involved in four armed robberies in Ulu Tiram, Taman Desa Cemerlang, Bandar Penawar in Kota Tinggi, and Kluang.

“We also found two pistols, a magazine of bullets, 12 shotgun bullets, 15 9mm bullets and gloves,” SAC Hashim told reporters yesterday.

SAC Hashim said the suspects would be charged with illegal possession of the pistols under the Firearms Act.
