KOTA BARU: The Election Court has declared Barisan Nasional candidate Che Min Che Ahmad as the winner of the Pasir Puteh parliamentary seat after nullifying the result announced on general election night that Kalthom Othman of PAS had won.

However, the decision does not affect the political situation as it merely increases Barisan's already vast majority to 199 seats in Parliament. In the state, the coalition now has nine parliamentary seats to PAS' five.
