PETALING JAYA: Several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and religious groups have agreed to set up a loose coalition to build consensus on social and legal problems that arise after a spouse converts to Islam.
This coalition, which will raise public awareness on the importance of upholding the fundamental rights of all people regardless of religion, race, descent, place of birth and gender, is also seeking a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to discuss the problems.
