Thian Hock: Climbed out through the ceiling of the toilet and fled on foot.

KUALA LANGAT: The prime suspect in the murder of 18-year-old See Sheau Fang, whose body was found buried in a hole in front of a house in Taman Perwira on Monday, escaped from the Tanjung Sepat police station here.

The 29-year-old suspect, Kher Thian Hock, while relieving himself in a toilet outside the lockup, climbed out through the ceiling of the toilet and fled on foot.

Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Fauzi Shaari said the incident occurred between 7am and 7.15am when a sentry escorted the suspect to the toilet and waited outside the door.

“When the suspect failed to come out a few minutes later, the sentry broke into the toilet only to find that the suspect had escaped through the ceiling.

“Following Thian Hock’s escape, we have suspended a lance corporal and a constable, aged between 40 and 50, pending further investigations,” he said.

DCP Fauzi said police had launched a massive manhunt for Thian Hock whose brother was also arrested in connection with the murder and urged members of the public with information to contact the nearest police station.

Police produced Thian Hock and four others at a Sepang magistrate’s court on Tuesday and obtained a 14-day remand order against them.

Three of the suspects were employed as welders and crane operators while Thian Hock and his brother were unemployed.

When contacted by The Star yesterday, Sheau Fang’s 42-year-old father, See Soon Thiam, a contractor, said his family was upset to learn about the suspect’s escape.

“I heard the news early this morning from telephone calls on my mobile phone,” he said.

Sheau Fang was reported missing on Feb 26 after leaving her house in Sungai Jarum in asilver-coloured Proton Waja to have supper with a few friends.

Police got a lead on the missing person report after picking up a car thief in Gombak on Sunday. The thief later divulged information about the missing girl and her whereabouts.

When police stormed the house in Taman Perwira the following day, they arrested three of the suspects before using an excavator to break the freshly laid concrete flooring beside the car porch.

Police managed to retrieve a body, which was wrapped in a blanket and put into a large black garbage bag, some six hours later.

The escape came just two weeks after the former Kuala Langat OCPD and 28 of his men were transferred to separate police districts when police completed investigations into a complaint of an illegal casino operating within its vicinity.
