KUALA PERLIS: Residents here woke up to the grim sight of scores of razed buildings as victims of the biggest fire ever to hit this coastal town brooded over their future.

The fire at Kampung Puju and Kampung Seberang Tokpi on Friday evening scorched an area about the size of two-and-a-half football fields, leaving an ugly scar in this town famed for its seafood and where ferries depart for Langkawi.
