Sub-contractor pleads not guilty

KUALA LUMPUR: A sub-contractor pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here yesterday to a charge of attempted murder. 

Ngo Kee Cheng, 27, of Selayang Baru, is alleged to have shot and injured Pay Boon Bin with a pistol in front of the Star Channel Pub & Cafe in Jalan 3/1A, Taman Kepong Indah here at 3pm on Oct 24.  

The offence under section 307 of the Penal Code carries a maximum 20 years' jail and a fine. 

Judge Akhtar Tahir allowed bail of RM50,000 with one surety and fixed Jan 9 for mention. 

DPP S. Devanandan prosecuted while Ngo was unrepresented. – Bernama
