PETALING JAYA: For imam Ma Yi Ping from Xian, China, his passion for calligraphy has a larger purpose in life – to bridge cultural differences and enhance religious fervour among the Muslim brotherhood worldwide. 

With this in mind, Ma, 40, arrived here this Hari Raya armed with his works of khat (Islamic calligraphy) and spent two days celebrating the festival with a Malaysian family.
