Cheque scam uncovered in Malacca

MALACCA: The state government here has uncovered a scam involving the forgery of over 173 state government cheques involving over RM1.2mil. 

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam, who revealed this at the state assembly yesterday, said some RM766,000 for 111 of the cheques had already been paid out but payment for the remaining 62 cheques involving over RM460,000 had been stopped.
