NO RETRIAL (Aug 16): High Court judges can now use their power to correct technical mistakes by Sessions judges or magistrates without having to order the lower courts to hold a retrial. The landmark decision was reached by the five-man bench of the Court of Appeal presided by Chief Justice Ahmad Fairuz Sheik Abdul Halim.
