Federal okay for EIA

PETALING JAYA: State governments will not be allowed to approve Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) applications for projects on highlands and islands. 

Science, Technology and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Law Hieng Ding said EIA applications for such projects would soon have to obtain federal approval before development is allowed.
